Getting Started
Starting therapy can be a difficult experience.
Even if you've done it before, establishing with a new therapist takes a lot of work and courage.
I hope to make things as clear and easy as possible.
All questions are welcome!
Here is a brief layout of getting started:
REQUEST THERAPY
Call (304) 534-9321 or E-mail info@awakenmentalwellness.com or use the Contact form to request therapy services.
I will respond ASAP, usually within 72 hours. Please save the above email address to your contacts, or check your spam folder, if you are making a request by email.
I'll gladly answer any questions you might have through E-mail or a 15 minute free phone consultation.
Understandably, the most common question I receive is about costs. Please venture over to the Payments section for more information on this practice's transparent and affordable pricing options.
Whenever you're ready, I'll send you a link to fill out the Intake Forms on the Simple Practice Client Portal.
*Awaken Mental Wellness does not perform psychological evaluations, fitness of duty evaluations, or custody evaluations.
INTAKE PROCESS
You will need to fill out intake forms before meeting, which will take between 5-30 minutes to complete.
Once your Intake Forms are complete, you can request an appointment through the Client Portal or reaching out to me.
Hours:
Monday 11am - 7pm
Tuesday 11am - 7pm
Wednesday 11am - 7pm
Your first appointment will last about an hour. It will be helpful for you to meet in a comfortable environment, with a good internet connection, that is private and free of distractions. I will review your forms and thoroughly evaluate your needs. We will generally start to get to know each other. It's a great time to ask additional questions and share necessary information to support your treatment.
This process may last several visits depending on the severity and complexity of your presenting situation.
TREATMENT PLANNING
We will collaborate to establish a plan for treatment, including how often we meet, what methods might be used, and what goals you want to reach.
Your treatment plan will be reviewed regularly to evaluate progress and determine if any changes are needed.
Referrals to other professionals or community resources can be made if new presenting needs emerge in therapy, for example: medication evaluation, couples or family counseling, or other related services.
If at any point we decide we're not a good fit, or you want to do something different for any reason, I'll help you with recommendations and referrals. This is rare, but if it does happen, I'll be happy to help in any way I can. You having the care you need will always be the top priority.
